African Handball Confest to Host 2028 Olympic Qualifiers

The African Handball Confederation decided to establish an Olympic Qualification Tournament exclusively for men’s handball starting in 2028. This tournament will separate the continental championship from Olympic qualification. Four teams will participate: the host nation, the African champion, and the top two teams from the African Cup of Nations. The tournament will be used to determine the Olympic qualifiers, while the African Cup of Nations will continue to decide the qualifiers for the World Championship. Thus, the Olympic dream will begin, considered independently from the continental crowns, starting from 2028.
