Water outages begin Wednesday evening

The National Water Exploitation and Distribution Company announced a temporary water outage for drinking purposes on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM, in several areas across the states of Medenine, Tataouine, and Gabes. The outage is due to maintenance work on the seawater desalination plant at Zarat, which accounts for 50% of the plant's capacity. The water supply is expected to be interrupted until early Thursday evening, October 22, with services gradually resuming after the maintenance is completed.
