Tunisia leads European workwear exports
Tunisia ranked first in supplying the European market with workwear, accounting for approximately 17 percent of the market share. It is the second-largest export sector within the manufacturing industries after mechanical and electrical industries, with exports valued at around 9 billion dinars in 2025, covering imports at a rate of 127 percent. A model digital textile production unit was inaugurated at the Textile Technical Center in Monastir, utilizing Japanese technology "JUKI DX Pilot Line," with the aim of developing the capacities of Tunisian industrial enterprises and enhancing their productivity through digital technologies. This comes as part of the Tunisian-Japanese technical cooperation to support production quality and increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
