Winners of the Fifth Tunisian Book Fair announced

The awards for the fifth edition of the Tunisian National Book Fair were announced during the opening ceremony, which lasted until November 1, 2026. The prizes were presented in various categories, including poetry, novels, short stories, and intellectual studies aimed at children. Equal awards were given in the poetry category; Mohamed Hadi Al-Jaziri received one for his collection "Maybe Waiting a Little Longer Would Have Been Better," and Iman Dawood for her French-language collection "Murmurs of an Euphoric Heart." Azhar Al-Sahrawi won the novel prize for "Honey of the World," and Yasmine Khodoma received the short story collection award for "Inside Me, Tracks of Steel." The intellectual studies prize for children was awarded to Najwa Al-Qadri for a study on children's narratives from an intuitive perspective. Evaluations showed that the poetic contributions covered a variety of forms, with recommendations to increase scrutiny before publication. The committee also advised differentiating between types of novels, improving character development, and favoring works that reflect rich artistic and human experiences.
