Jordan and US agree on trade deal
Jordan and the United States of America have signed a mutual trade agreement to strengthen economic relations and facilitate the movement of goods, after a year of negotiations building on the 2001 Free Trade Agreement. The agreement includes reducing customs duties on Jordanian goods to 10%, providing preferences for the clothing sector, as well as maintaining customs exemptions on American products and not imposing taxes on digital services. Figures indicate that Jordanian exports to the U.S. market reached 595 million dinars in the first quarter of the year. Meanwhile, the National Aviation Company has negotiated deals worth $1.9 billion for the purchase and leasing of aircraft. Additionally, the Jordanian company "Hikma" plans to invest $1 billion in America by 2030, including the purchase of American raw materials worth over $300 million annually, to enhance economic cooperation and benefit from industry components.
