Algeria reports wildfire containment except some hotspots

All fires threatening the residents and property in Algeria have been brought under control, with only a limited number of hotspots still receiving firefighting efforts. This success was made possible through the coordinated efforts of civil protection, the army, security forces, and citizen participation. Between Thursday and last Saturday, the country recorded over 160 fires across several provinces. Firefighting efforts were reinforced with an air fleet of around 18 aircraft, including 12 dedicated to fire suppression, two military planes, and helicopters. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune ordered the formation of committees to assess damages and losses in preparation for compensation.
