US broadens Iran sanctions list

The United States conducted a series of airstrikes inside Iran targeting military and naval facilities in an effort to reduce threats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The strikes targeted command centers, drone storage depots, communication networks, and maritime sites, resulting in the death of four people and injuries to nine others. Military equipment was also destroyed in the provinces of Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Gilan, and Lorestan. Despite these attacks, maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz continues with U.S. military support, and it is estimated that more than 50,000 U.S. troops are present in the region, with air defense systems activated in Tehran.
