Doran: Turkey enhances media literacy

Turkey is focusing on strengthening its communication capabilities to counter media misinformation. The Head of the Communications Department at the Turkish Presidency is working on developing public policies and improving the dissemination of Turkish voices at both the national and international levels. In Ankara, the second Communication Forum was organized, with the participation of 425 experts from the public sector, academia, media, and civil society organizations, to discuss issues such as cybersecurity, digital sovereignty, combating misinformation, and algorithms. The goal is to assess education in this field, foster collaboration between universities and institutions, and prepare a new generation with critical thinking skills capable of identifying manipulation tactics. The focus is on safeguarding the truth and achieving data sovereignty in an era facing challenges from digitalization and artificial intelligence.
