Pre-Dynastic Tomb Found North of Cairo

The age of this cemetery ranges from approximately 5500 BCE to 3100 BCE and extends into the Greek and Roman periods. It includes a residential area dating to the Second Transition. This discovery enhances our understanding of the development of settlement patterns and burial practices, as the site yielded tombs reflecting diverse funeral rituals, along with living remains such as mudbrick buildings and grain silos, shedding light on the lives of the people in those early times.
