The James Webb Space Telescope has discovered three supermassive black holes actively accumulating matter within the galaxy J0148-4214, as well as the most distant known black hole to date, dating back to less than 660 million years after the Big Bang. This discovery contributes to our understanding of potential "small red dot" objects, which are believed to be rapidly growing supermassive black holes within dense gas clouds, and are part of the early developments of the universe from about 12 billion years ago.
