Qalibaf Tours Iraq with Delegation

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and Chief Negotiator, Mohammed Baqer Qalibaf, visited Iraq accompanied by a high-level parliamentary delegation, amid regional tensions and the lack of a new diplomatic agreement between the United States and Iran following the end of the Framework Agreement. The visit comes as attacks by pro-Iranian militias against American and Iraqi targets escalate, with Tehran targeting several sites in Iraq, including attacks on the Kurdistan Region. During the visit, Iranian Quds Force leader Ismail Qaani also met with officials, urging militia leaders not to disarm in order to maintain Iran's influence in Iraq.
