Washington Offers $10 Million for Iran Hacking Network

The U.S. Department of Justice announced new indictments against 17 individuals working with the MABNA Iranian Institute, accused of carrying out hacking operations and data theft targeting American universities, companies, and government agencies. The charges include the theft of over 31.5 terabytes of data between 2013 and 2017. The campaign was found to target 144 American universities, 178 international universities, 42 American companies, and 11 government agencies. The hackers aimed to steal scientific data and intellectual property, with a reward of up to $10 million offered for information leading to the identification of five of the suspects.
