Today, on International Day, August 23rd, we commemorate the anniversary of our abolition of the slave trade of Black people. It aims to document and remember the tragedy of slavery. This day is linked to the 1791 uprising in Santo Domingo (Haiti and the Dominican Republic), which played a crucial role in ending the transatlantic slave trade.
