Chinese scientists have developed a small robot that swims using real frog muscles, without wires or batteries. It operates by stimulating infrared light on solar panels that generate electrical signals, which are then transmitted to nerves on the muscle surface to control movement. The robot can swim at a speed of up to 0.54 times its body length per second and performs precise movements such as turns and circular motions. It remains reliably functional for an entire week while powered by living muscle tissue.
