The "NextGen Cup 30.5: Climate Summit and Youth Diplomacy Simulation" program was launched in Istanbul, with the participation of 200 delegates from 12 countries. The event is organized by the Turkish Ministry of Environment, the Jamarah Foundation, and Istanbul Technical University. The program aims to simulate diplomacy in the field of climate change, in line with Turkey’s vision to achieve net-zero emissions by 2053 and promote green development. It emphasizes the importance of making effective decisions to combat the global temperature rise, which is linked to an increase of 1.5 degrees Celsius and its subsequent environmental and economic impacts. Through various activities and discussions, the program highlights the responsibility of individuals and governments in preventing the escalation of climate change. Turkey is preparing to host the COP31 Conference this upcoming November, one of the world's key forums for climate diplomacy, attended by 197 countries to discuss emission reductions, enhance adaptation mechanisms, and promote climate finance.
