Ferry with 270 people sinks off North Cyprus

A passenger boat capsized off the coast of northern Cyprus, resulting in the drowning of approximately 270 people out of around 258 on board. The vessel, a catamaran-type ferry, was heading from the port of Kyrenia to Tashuku in Turkey and began taking on water before overturning. Rescue teams arrived at the scene and managed to evacuate 159 passengers. Search operations are still ongoing, and there have been no reports of injuries so far.
