Israel plans to expand the "Northern Shield" project to strengthen fortifications along the Lebanon border, with the aim of protecting towns located nine kilometers from the border. The project includes the construction of over 15,000 fortified security rooms in 89 towns and the reinforcement of approximately 11,000 multi-unit housing units, in addition to improving protection in areas less than one kilometer from the border. This initiative comes as part of efforts to repair the damages caused by the war that began three years ago, as the towns仍 suffer from damaged homes and facilities, economic decline, and persistent gaps in security in some of these areas.
