Switzerland returns ancient Egyptian funerary mask

The Swiss Embassy in Egypt returned an ancient funerary mask from the Ptolemaic era, over two thousand years old, to Egypt. Swiss customs authorities had seized it upon its entry into the country in 2022, and archaeology experts confirmed its Egyptian origin. The Federal Councillor, Elizabeth Borne Schneider, then handed the mask over to the Egyptian ambassador in Bern.
