On the morning of September 30th, during a flight operated by Fly Dubai from Dubai to Tel Aviv, a strange incident occurred in which the airplane lost more than 14,000 feet of altitude in just 29 seconds—equivalent to half the height of Mount Everest. The aircraft was flying above Everest’s peak before suddenly beginning a rapid descent at speeds reaching up to 598 knots, more than two and a half times the human free-fall velocity. Data revealed that the descent was sharp, with the plane dropping approximately 148 meters per second—far faster than a natural fall—and the aircraft’s speed increased during the descent, indicating exposure to high dynamic forces. Investigations suggest that the incident originated inside the cockpit, with reports of threats or an attempted attack. It is believed that the crew attempted to regain control, resulting in an emergency landing at Thabuk Airport under significant risk to the passengers, including Israeli nationals.
