Youssef Belaili and FIFA dispute
Tunisian Esperance player Youssef El-Arabi is facing a case before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) following a dispute over owed payments with French club Ajaccio. The case concerns a claim for compensation of 380,000 euros, based on documents alleged to have been forged by the French club. FIFA had suspended El-Arabi for one year in March 2025. The court temporarily suspended the implementation of the punishment in August 2026, allowing the player to resume playing with Esperance. A crucial hearing is scheduled for November 10, 2026, to determine the future of the suspension and the legal outcome of the case.
