American explores perilous Himalayan airport
The "Tenzing-Hillary" Airport in Nepal is considered one of the most dangerous airports in the world due to its extremely short runway and steep descent towards the edge of the mountain. Its location amidst the Himalayan peaks and the unpredictable weather conditions further increase the challenges for both aircraft and pilots. An American traveler documents her experience during a journey through the airport, describing the runway as one of the most nerve-wracking parts of the trip, even though she finds the overall experience enjoyable and exciting.
