Sudanese PM Considers Turkish Assistance

The Sudanese government, headed by Prime Minister Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, affirmed that it is open to negotiations and supports efforts for peace in the country. It emphasized that the military path is proceeding in the right direction, with the army achieving significant victories. The government launched a national peace initiative that has garnered substantial international support and called on the international community to consider it, expressing readiness to hold a Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue in the near future. It also welcomed Turkey’s role in supporting peace negotiations, highlighting the historic relations and shared partnerships between Khartoum and Ankara. These statements come as part of the government’s efforts to end the ongoing conflict since April 2023 between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands and the displacement of around 13 million people.
