Iraq Restores Iran Flights with 40 Daily Services
The Najaf Airport in Iraq has resumed airline operations with Iran after a pause of several days. It will now operate 40 flights daily to and from the airport, including Iranian airlines, except for Mahan Airlines. This move comes as part of the Iraqi government's efforts to facilitate the movement of travelers and pilgrims, and to support humanitarian and tourism aspects. The decision was made following an agreement reached by Prime Minister Ali Fahad al-Zahadi after discussions with the Iranian side. This step occurs amid tensions between the United States and Iran and their impact on regional flight operations, with some flights having been canceled previously due to U.S. sanctions on Iranian airlines.
