Earthquakes Hit Southern Turkey and Northern Syria
Southern Turkey experienced five mild earthquakes on Monday, which were felt by residents in northern Syria, with no reports of injuries or damages. The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) confirmed that no damage occurred, while the Syrian National Seismic Center indicated that the tremors were felt in northern parts of the country, also with no injuries or damages. It is worth noting that the area is approximately 150 kilometers away from the epicenters of the devastating earthquakes in February 2023, which resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands. Turkey is known for its seismic activity due to its location at the convergence of tectonic plates.
