Iran reveals details of Spider Web plan to target US bombers
The article provided new details regarding the United States' withdrawal of 12 B-1 bombers from Fairford Air Base in the United Kingdom, citing security threats related to Iran. American intelligence indicated a potential Iranian plan to use drones to target the bombers and military personnel inside the base, inspired by Ukraine's "Spider Network" attack against Russia. This comes amid concerns that Iran's method might include smuggling drones into a nearby base housing U.S. aircraft, thereby exposing them to low-cost threats. The withdrawal was also accompanied by British investigations into potential terrorist plots. Former President Trump commented that the evacuation decision was made due to known threats, while Iran denied involvement in any such plan.
