Arab and African firms eye China Import Expo

Companies from Arab and African countries are preparing to participate in the 9th China International Import Expo, scheduled from November 5 to 10, 2026, with the aim of expanding their presence in the Chinese market. The expo is an important platform that enables small and medium-sized enterprises to access the market, having welcomed over 180 countries and regions since 2018 and showcasing more than 3,400 new products and technologies. This year, the event focuses on supporting African companies and developing developing nations through free pavilions and a dedicated section for Asian and African products. Additionally, China has implemented an import duty exemption policy for products from 53 African countries to facilitate their entry into the Chinese market. Many companies, such as a Syrian firm producing traditional soap, are keen to expand into the Chinese market, with expectations of increased demand for their products.
