Portugal's Ronaldo Opens Up on Jesus Crisis

The article details Cristiano Ronaldo's account of the crisis that arose between him and the Portuguese national team coach, Jorge Jesus, during the recent training camp, which led to his sudden departure from the camp. Ronaldo explains that the reason for his departure was the coach's failure to fulfill his promise to include him in the Norway match, an action he considered a breach of trust. He indicated that he was close to retiring after the 2026 World Cup but decided to continue after receiving support from the head of the federation, affirming his readiness to accept any punishment if necessary. He also clarified that the disagreement began when Jesus informed him of his desire to play for 30 minutes in the match, and Ronaldo refused to receive special treatment when offered the option not to travel to Norway and Denmark. He stated that he felt his failure to participate after the promise was the direct reason for leaving the camp, and he takes full responsibility for that, expressing his willingness to accept any disciplinary measures from the federation. Despite the crisis, Ronaldo confirmed that the door remains open for his return to the national team, especially if he is in good physical condition and is playing with his club. He mentioned that he would like to have two farewell matches. This account highlights the reasons behind his dispute with the coach, clarifies his stance on sanctions, and affirms his desire to continue with the national team if conditions improve.
