An Israeli indictment has revealed a broad-scale plan devised by a mathematics lecturer at Bar-Ilan University aimed at Palestinians within Israel and in the West Bank. The plan involved executing simultaneous attacks believed to potentially result in the death of between 600 and 700 Arabs and cause mass displacement. The scheme included forming 12 armed cells consisting of 72 individuals, who would use various weapons to carry out surprise attacks on Arab cities and towns, with intentions of conducting collective expulsions and targeting infrastructure. Despite the seriousness of the plot, certain Israeli security agencies refrained from investigating it, even after its dangers became apparent and concrete evidence and actions were uncovered. Bar-Ilan University announced that the individual had been suspended, emphasizing that his actions conflicted with the university's values. The suspect was arrested in September 2023 and is currently pursuing legal charges for planning terrorist acts, threats, and obstructing justice.
