Washington supplies Cairo with Javelins
Washington has approved a defense deal with Egypt valued at approximately $832 million, which includes more than 2,000 "Javelin" missiles and 200 launch units, along with training equipment and technical and logistical support. The purpose of the deal is to enhance Egypt's anti-armor capabilities and is part of a strategy to diversify Egypt's sources of armament while maintaining military balance in the region. Reports also indicate that the deal aligns with Egypt's regional support efforts without negatively impacting Israel’s military superiority or the overall regional balance.
