Africa Cup 2025 Final Decision Pending

The article discusses the legal and sporting controversy surrounding Morocco's victory in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, following an appeal by Senegal before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Morocco's win was the result of an administrative decision, but Senegal challenged the outcome, asserting that the goal they scored in extra time was disallowed due to an illegal decision, and that the CAF appeal committee upheld its decision despite existing laws indicating that referees' decisions are final and can only be challenged in cases of corruption. The court will examine the case, which is considered exceptional because it concerns the withdrawal of a title won on the field, amid ongoing debates over fundamental principles of sports and referees' decisions.
