Settlers attack French photographer

The Israeli attackers, including settlers and soldiers, overpowered a Palestinian journalist named Jafar Ashteh while he was covering the settlers' assaults on Palestinians in the West Bank. He was beaten and lost his filming equipment, with 12 Israeli soldiers present about 500 meters away and failing to intervene. This attack occurs during the olive harvesting season, a period when farmers and protesters face oppression and repeated assaults. Human rights organizations have documented more than 16 incidents of attacks on reporters this year alone, carried out either by settlers or the army, in an effort to intimidate journalistic coverage in the area.
