Morocco Court Receives 6 Election Challenges

An article reported that the Constitutional Court in Rabat has received, so far, six appeals against the results of the parliamentary elections held on September 23. An increase in the number of appeals is expected before the legal deadline, which ends on October 25. Some observers attribute this relatively low number to certain candidates awaiting the results of political consultations and the formation of the government, while others are planning to consolidate the appeals for review by a legal committee before submitting them to the court. According to the laws of the Constitutional Council, the appeal period is 30 days, and the court must rule on the appeals within one year from the end of the submission deadline.
