Gunfire at UNIFIL base in Lebanon

A shooting attack with light weapons on a United Nations force site in southern Lebanon near Kfar Shuba did not result in any injuries, although some UN buildings and vehicles were damaged. UNIFIL condemned the incident and launched an investigation, emphasizing that attacks on its forces are unacceptable and endanger the lives of peacekeepers. The region remains tense, especially as the mission's mandate is set to end in late 2026, while Israel continues to occupy large areas in southern Lebanon.
