Chaka's Future with Swiss Team Post-Scandal
Swiss authorities have imposed a fine of 150,000 Swiss francs (approximately 160,000 euros or 180,000 dollars) on Granit Xhaka, captain of the Swiss national team and star of Sunderland in England, accusing him of obtaining a fraudulent COVID-19 vaccination certificate during the pandemic. The penalty was suspended, meaning he will not be required to pay it unless he commits another offense in the future, and he is placed under judicial supervision for two years, with the court fees being his responsibility. Xhaka admitted to his distrust of the vaccine and confirmed that he takes responsibility for his decision; however, investigations have not yet revealed the circumstances or the duration of using the forged certificate. As a result, he was excluded from the Swiss national team for the last four matches, despite having led the team in a record 152 international games, and the team has won all the recent matches played without him.
