Pentagon: Fort Hood attacker execution to be streamed

An official from the U.S. Department of Defense stated that the execution of Nidal Hasan, convicted of carrying out a shooting attack at Fort Hood in 2009 which resulted in the death of 13 people, will be broadcast live on the internet, making it the first public execution carried out by the U.S. military since 1961. He was charged with executing the attack inspired by Al-Qaeda, and was sentenced to death in 2013.
