Trump: 22M barrels cross Strait of Hormuz

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that 22 million barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz overnight, emphasizing that the shipments were neither from Iran nor headed to Iran, despite the ongoing American sanctions on Tehran. He indicated that he was not prepared to launch a new attack on Iran before the Congressional elections on November 3rd, but did not rule out the possibility after the elections, citing positive talks with Tehran. The statements led to a decline in oil prices, with Brent crude dropping to around $102.60 and U.S. West Texas Intermediate to $90.18, amid concerns over threats to shipping traffic in the Gulf and ongoing tensions in the region.
