UAE reports plan targeting Ben Gurion by Fly Dubai flight attendant

Investigations into the Fly Dubai flight incident reveal that the co-pilot, an Omani national aged 29, began executing a terrorist plan aimed at taking control of the aircraft and using it in a suicide attack against Ben Gurion Airport. He was influenced by extremist ideology since 2017, during his studies in Australia. The co-pilot exploited two previous flights to scout the aircraft's route and the airport, before initiating his plan during the third flight on September 30, 2026. During the incident, the co-pilot assaulted the pilot with an emergency axe, but the situation was managed, and the crew was rescued. The aircraft safely landed at Taboq Airport in Saudi Arabia. Investigations showed that the suspect completed all hiring procedures without any prior indications of extremism, and his attack was targeted to carry out a terrorist act. Ongoing investigations aim to identify potential partners or other connections.
