South African judge awarded Nobel Peace Prize

South African Judge Navi Pillay has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of her work as chair of the United Nations' independent inquiry committee that accused Israel of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip. Israel rejected the award, viewing it as damaging to its legitimacy, while Pillay dedicated the prize to survivors of international crimes. She emphasized the commitment of world leaders to protecting human rights and refraining from waging wars, and criticized attacks on the International Criminal Court amid the Trump administration's sanctions that threaten its activities.
