Mauritanians Expect New Government

Mauritania is awaiting the announcement of the new government following the resignation of the current one, the first in the second term of President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani. The new cabinet is expected to include political and technical experts to address the economic challenges and ongoing crises, such as rising prices and the electricity crisis, which has led to two fires and widespread power outages. It is anticipated that there will be a reshuffling of portfolios and possibly the organization of vital sectors, with a focus on strengthening urban and rural development and creating opportunities for young people. These developments are happening amidst discussions about the government's continuation amid debates over presidential term limits and the implementation of reforms.
