Turkish President: Mecca deal to be submitted to Parliament soon

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed that Ankara will submit the Makkah Agreement for Collective Defense with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to the Parliament in the coming days for ratification. This step aims to strengthen security cooperation and regional stability. Erdoğan expressed Turkey’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia against attacks by the Houthi group in Yemen, describing them as illegal and inhumane. He emphasized that Turkey does not approach events from a religious or ethnic perspective but focuses on achieving peace and stability in the region. He also pointed out that the Turkish government is working to address the issue of investment funds carefully, with ongoing investigations and the detention or pursuit of many individuals involved. Additionally, efforts are being made to expand youth support programs and prepare young people for the labor market. Approximately 220,000 young people have benefited from the "Işkur" project, which aims to increase capacity to 150,000 within 2026 and 2027 by providing substantial financial and social support.
