White House Calls for Greece Ambassador Resignation
The White House has asked U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Gilsouil, to resign amid accusations of inappropriate conduct, including accepting luxury gifts and soliciting funds in exchange for facilitating access to government officials. Former U.S. President Donald Trump had previously indicated that he was considering dismissing her, citing dissatisfaction with her performance, amidst concerns of attempting to undermine the Greek government by leveraging U.S. influence. The U.S. Embassy in Athens has not issued any comment yet.
