Hezbollah aids war victims to ease tensions

The article focused on Hezbollah's announcement of a financial and housing assistance program for homes affected by the war in Lebanon and for displaced persons, with support amounts reaching up to $14,000 for housing units in Beirut and southern suburbs, and $12,000 for other areas. The assistance includes furniture allowances and rent support, disbursed in four payments over the course of a year. It targets homeowners whose properties have been destroyed or significantly damaged, as well as displaced individuals from border or occupied regions. These aid efforts come amid a US blockade and political tensions, and are seen as an attempt by the party to strengthen its popular support and reduce protests, despite limited funding and doubts about its sources. Hezbollah has criticized the Lebanese government for its responsibility in reconstruction and housing, with limited investment of the aid to serve political and popular goals within its environment.
