Sudanese talks with Quadripartite Force

A delegation from Sudan's political and civil forces in Addis Ababa discussed with the International Quinquennial Mechanism ways to end the war in Sudan and the resulting humanitarian crisis. The meeting focused on launching Sudan-led peace arrangements that include immediate humanitarian calm, followed by a permanent cessation of fighting and political negotiations to address the root causes of the crisis, with the goal of establishing a just and comprehensive peace and sustainable democratic transition. The participants called for protecting civilians, ensuring access to humanitarian aid, linking international mediation efforts, expanding the arms embargo, and holding perpetrators of atrocities accountable, while excluding the National Congress Party. They emphasized the importance of involving all Sudanese civil forces and ensuring a fair peace process, working to halt external support and achieve the unity of Sudan. The delegation also appreciated the move towards translating diplomatic efforts into tangible steps to stop the bloodshed and alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people.
