Zelensky reports unannounced Russian strike on Kyiv
A power plant in Kyiv was targeted by a Russian missile attack without Ukraine receiving an early warning from Western allies, leading to explosions in the capital and the destruction of a key energy facility. President Zelensky confirmed that the attack hit Thermal Power Plant No. 4, and Western surveillance systems only detected the missiles as they neared the city, accusing Russia of using missiles that are difficult to detect or employing technologies that face detection issues. The repeated nature of these attacks raises concerns about the deterioration of vital infrastructure security, amid ongoing tensions between Kyiv and the United States regarding military support.
