Elon Musk Addresses Ukraine Starlink Claims

The article addresses the crisis facing Starlink service, which is imposing restrictions on military use in Ukraine, disrupting drone operations and intelligence activities, and threatening Ukrainian defense capabilities. Ukrainian authorities stated that the restrictions—implemented by SpaceX staff under instructions from the U.S. government—limit speeds to over 100 miles per hour, impeding logistical support and drone-based attacks. Elon Musk responded to these claims by stating that Starship is owned and controlled by the U.S. government and that commercial Starlink services are not used in military operations. The crisis is currently under investigation, with Ukraine seeking alternative communication channels amid escalating tensions with the United States over the impact of these restrictions on its efforts to defend against Russian attacks, which have caused damage to oil refineries and infrastructure.
