US lifts sanctions on Venezuela's Assembly chief

The United States lifted sanctions on Jorge Rodríguez, the President of the National Assembly in Venezuela and brother of the interim president, Delsi Rodríguez, without providing a clear reason for this decision. This move comes amid improved political and economic communication between Washington and Caracas, after the U.S. condemned the Venezuelan government and imposed sanctions on Rodríguez and his sister in 2018. The sanctions against her were subsequently lifted in April.
