Diesel deal between Trump and Putin and Ukraine war

The article discusses U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to allow the import of Russian diesel into the United States and to ease sanctions imposed on Moscow. This move has sparked criticism from Ukraine and Europe, as they believe that such funding could bolster Russia's war efforts against Ukraine. Analyses indicate that Trump’s publicly stated goal is to influence market prices ahead of the U.S. midterm elections. However, experts confirm that the planned quantities will be very small and will not significantly lower prices. Additionally, Russia might use the proceeds to finance its military activities in Ukraine. Experts suggest that this agreement is unlikely to have a decisive impact on military operations, and potential American threats to cut intelligence support for Kyiv add further complications to the situation, with European support possibly providing only temporary relief.
