Belgian police search Congolese leader's relatives

The article focused on raids carried out by the Belgian police on the homes of relatives and associates of Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi, as part of an investigation into money laundering linked to mining revenues in Congo. The reported complaint indicates that Belgian citizens have appropriated mining resources and laundered money resulting from embezzlement, putting pressure on Tshisekedi's regime—especially with suspicion of involvement by nine of his family members who hold Belgian nationality. The investigation comes amid security challenges in Congo and political tensions, aiming to uncover illegal funding sources related to the mining sector, which possesses vast mineral riches but suffers from corruption and mismanagement.
