Trump jokes about naming oceans after himself
During a speech in Georgia, U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned that he contacted Google playfully about naming one of the oceans after him. This was in reference to his previous attempts to change well-known names such as "Gulf of Mexico" and "Lake Ontario" to "America Gulf" and "America Lake," respectively. He explained that he suggested naming the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean as "Trump Ocean," but the company declined the idea because it covers wide international areas. It is worth noting that in August, Trump issued an order to rename "Lake Ontario" to "America Lake," and he had previously proposed changing the names of the "Gulf of Mexico" and the "Hormuz Strait" to "Trump Gulf" and "Trump Strait," respectively.
