Old and new channels link regions and foster opportunities

The modern Bingluo Canal has been opened; it is a 134.2-kilometer-long waterway that connects the Shijiang River system in southern China to Beibu Gulf, enhancing maritime transport and reducing logistical costs by up to 30%. Additionally, the Lingchui Canal, built in 214 BC, which connects the Yangtze River to the Pearl River, has been restored for use. It currently supports tourism and local water supplies despite its historical development. These canals contribute to infrastructure improvement, boost trade, and create new economic opportunities, supporting the local sector and facilitating transportation between rivers and the ocean.
